All dogs, regardless of breed, age, or size, need training. Sound training techniques, coupled with correct instruction, help the owner establish clear, unambiguous behavioral expectations from their dog. Such training, when carried out in an effective, efficient, and non-confrontational manner, achieves this goal and avoids confusion -- confusion is the mortal enemy of training.
Last, but by no means least, the well-trained dog is a much safer and happier animal, resulting in a good companion and a welcome neighbor -- and making for an equally contented owner.
Every dog is a unique individual. The approach to, and application of, any training program must take into consideration the age and temperament of the dog.
